Southern California
Southern California has about fifty hot springs to choose from. There are dozens of fully developed spas along the coast, offering a full range of body treatments and spa packages. If you're a snowbird you'll definately enjoy all the RV parks featuring hot mineral water swimming pools, most of them boast the therapeutic benefits of their water. From the Kern River to Death Valley you'll find dozens of remote hot springs, some on the edge of cool rivers where you can jump back and forth, others in the middle of the desert where there's no cool water within 50 miles. Some tiny towns out there rely entirely on the hot mineral springs to feed their entire town. Some RV parks are set up so you can hook your trailer or motorhome right up to the city water connection - which is of course connected to the hot spring water. Take your pick, from totally primitive, free hot springs a days hike to reach, to cement pools you can drive right to, to the developed spas that need a months notice for reservations - Southern California offers probably the widest selection of hot spots in the country.
