Spring Synopsis: A remote, tranquil hot spring resort, which operates on a reservation only basis, located in the lush woodlands near Montgomery Woods State Preserve.

Seasonal Accessibility: Open year round; the bathhouse is closed from 7am until 9am every morning for cleaning.  Elevation is 800 feet.  Reservations are required and the number of guests that can be accomodated is limited, so call in advance to make your reservation.

Camping Availability: Camping, cottages with kitchens and private rooms are available for overnight guests.

Services at spring: Running water, solar power, library, dining area and an equipped communal kitchen.  Pay phone and vending machines are located in the lodge.  Massage is available through advanced reservation. 

Restrictions/Permits: Pets are prohibited.  Clothing is optional in all bathing areas.

The Spring(s): Guests are asked to soak in a private tub before entering any of the communal tubs, in an effort to remove any lotions or oils from the body.  These private tubs are drained in between each use.  Outside of the private bath area, guests can choose from an indoor redwood tub or the outdoor pools.  The water used for the redwood tub flows naturally at 102°  degrees but is additionally heated until 10pm offering a hotter soak.  Another hot pool is located just outside, where soakers can enjoy sunbathing - weather permitting.  Natural springs flow into the swimming pool providing a cooling contrast from the adjacent sauna and steam room.

Directions: Just north of Ukiah take Orr Springs Road west for 13 miles to the resort.

Additional Information: Orr is best visited during the week since they do limit the number of folks who can use the facility.  The swimming pool is closed for cleaning from Tuesday through noon on Wednesday. 

Nearby Attractions: If you take this road all the way to the coast, stop by the Pygmy Forest for an unusual experience.
