Eastern California is a beautiful area to visit, and it's even nicer when you stop for a hot bath, or ten.  Soaking opportunities range from the fully developed Grover Hot Springs State Park with concrete swimming and soaking pools, to the totally undeveloped areas like Buckeye, where hot water gushes from a cliff and runs down into many rock pools in the creek.  There are many places to camp for free, hike, fish, mountain bike, rockhound and bird watch.  With hot springs dotting the eastern flanks of the Sierras, you can enjoy all these activities and stop for a soak a couple times a day.  Many of these hot springs are located convienently right off Highway 395, so even if you're just driving through the area you can still stop to get in some hot water.
